I joined the real estate profession during the year 2001.  Thus far I have enjoyed it immensely.  Prior to becoming a Realtor, I was employed as a corporate finance professional for 28 years.  After the 28 years of corporate finance, I decided that my life was in need of a new direction.  I chose real estate because it gives me the opportunity to be self-employed.  So far, it has been very challenging and rewarding.
